Wesley Trent Snipes was born on July 31, 1962, in Orlando, Florida, USA, to Marian (Long) and Wesley Rudolph Snipes, an aircraft engineer. He grew up in the Bronx, New York, and later attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing, a high school specializing in visual and performing arts.

After graduating, Snipes attended the State University of New York at Purchase, also known as SUNY Purchase, where he received a BFA in Acting.

Wesley Snipes began his acting career in 1986 with a small role in the film “Wildcats” and quickly gained due recognition with his role as Willie Mays Hayes in “Major League” (1989). But it was his role as the drug lord Nino Brown in “New Jack City” (1991) that truly turned him into an international star.

Throughout the 1990s, Wesley Snipes appeared in a series of successful films, including “White Men Can’t Jump” (1992), “Demolition Man” (1993), and “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar” (1995). Although those movies were successful, he became best known for his role as the vampire hunter Blade in the “Blade” film trilogy (1998-2004).

Apart from acting, Wesley Snipes is also a skilled martial artist, holding black belts in Shotokan karate and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. His martial arts skills were showcased in many of his films, particularly the “Blade” trilogy.
